Winston's Wish
What a trooper! | 12th August 2010

Fitness Troop, a boot camp group in Cheltenham, has pledged to sign up to the Winston’s Wish Sunrise Walk on 25 September at Cheltenham Racecourse. The group of approximately 20 fitness enthusiasts are getting behind the walk, showing their commitment to getting fit and raising money for a local charity.
The group showed their support at the latest boot camp class held in Pittville Park last night. Members of the Troop will raise money and attend the walk with added effort along the way, every mile performing a set of boot camp style circuits. “We want to support a local charity that raises money for a great cause at the same time as promoting exercise and getting people fit and healthy”, said Neil Jones of Fitness Troop.
The Winston’s Wish Sunrise Walk is a ten mile walk starting and ending at Cheltenham Racecourse promising to take in some of the most stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The event will start with a colourful glow stick parade at 6am, before the walkers start their journey towards the sunrise the Fitness Troop will wake up the walkers and get them ready for the ten mile walk ahead.
Speaking about Fitness Troop’s involvement in the walk Sally Davies, Regional Events and Fundraising Manager at Winston’s Wish said “I am delighted that such an enthusiastic and dedicated group of fitness fans are taking part in our walk, their support and energy will be very welcome at 6am in the morning!”
This special walk has a £15.00 entry fee and each walker will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag and a well deserved breakfast at the end of the walk. Entry is strictly by prior registration at www.sunrisewalk.co.uk or by completing and returning the application form which is available from the charity by calling the Winston’s Wish Fundraising Team on 01242 515157.
